Tanga Cement PLC is a Tanzania-based cement producer. The principal activities of the Company are manufacturing, distribution and sale of cement and clinker. Its cement products are used in the construction of houses, schools, roads, bridges, dams, and other essential facilities for local communities. The Company produces three Simba Cement brands, including Simba imara-32.5R, Simba barabara-32.5N, and Simba bora-42.5N. Simba imara-32.5R is a Portland composite all purpose cement. Simba barabara-32.5N is a Portland composite cement for use specifically in road stabilization, specially formulated to improve the engineering properties of soil. Simba bora-42.5N is Portland limestone cement with limestone additive. It has the capacity to produce approximately 1.25 million tons of Simba cement and approximately 1.25 million tons of clinker. The primary raw material, limestone, is located at the plant site.
